Child Safety at Our Academy
Every child’s safety is of paramount importance to our academy and we have clear and consistent procedures in place to ensure that each child is safe. We meet all of the statutory requirements and regularly monitor safeguarding / child protection provision.
We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone. Joanne Hornsby (Executive Leader) is designated to lead on all safeguarding matters, including on-line safety. She is supported by a team who meet regularly and deputise in her absence from the academy.
We have a safeguarding team who meet regularly for safeguarding to monitor the impact of what we have in place; also ensuring we adhere to all legislation. We co-opt other members of staff onto the team when discussing children with Special Educational Needs and pastoral care. The safeguarding lead for the Board of Trustees attends some meetings as an observer but does not have access to individual child and family information.
All staff undertake annual training in the field of Safeguarding, on-line safety and access further, additional training throughout the year.
